Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe and his lieutenants have reportedly sounded out several potential candidates to replace Ten Hag after the club's worst Premier League finish since 1990.
Kieran McKenna was among the contenders to replace the Dutchman at Old Trafford but his plans have gone slightly awry as the Northern Irishman has decided to extend his contract with Ipswich Town for four seasons.
"I am extremely proud to have signed a new contract with the club. I am so happy to have committed my future to taking the next step with Ipswich Town and am really excited for what's ahead as we continue this journey together," he claimed.
The 38-year-old will be in charge of Ipswich Town until 2028, making him one of the highest paid managers in England. As a result, the Red Devils will have to keep looking for a replacement for Erik ten Hag.
Elsewhere, Ten Hag admitted that he still did not know what the future would hold for him. "I don't know (if I will stay)," he told the 'BBC' as he celebrated United's win in the London sunshine.
