Memphis on De Jong's absence: "I'm disappointed, upset that he's not here"

Memphis Depay has admitted he is "annoyed" that Frenkie de Jong is not in the Netherlands camp for their vital European Championship qualifier against France. "It's not a big injury and he will recover quickly, I'm disappointed," said the Atletico player.

Atletico Madrid striker and former Barcelona player Memphis Depay has spoken to 'NOS' about the Netherlands' training camp ahead of the upcoming FIFA matchday.
The 29-year-old wanted to talk about the absence of Frenkie de Jong from the training camp, after the current FC Barcelona player was left out of the squad with a muscle injury.
Memphis spoke loud and clear about the absence of his former team-mate De Jong: "We are upset that Frenkie de Jong is not here. For me, for the coach, for the whole squad and for the country. He is one of our key players.
"I called Frenkie, it's not a big injury and he will recover quickly. I'm close to Frenkie and I'm disappointed," concluded a Memphis who is aware of the importance of the 'Cule' player ahead of the European qualifier against France.
