Real Sociedad hosted Sevilla at the Reale Arena for the last game of the season. The Basque side won 2-1 thanks to goals from Brais Mendez and Mohamed-Ali Cho in the 27th and 73rd minutes.
Sevilla boss Jose Luis Mendilibar said it was "a tough game" and gave his thoughts on the match: "We couldn't train properly and I called up the players who were available. We wanted to avoid injuries," he began.
"Montiel was one of the fittest players. We put together a team to avoid injuries and spread the playing time but we were unable to win the game.
"Anyway we are still in Europe, we have won the Europa League title and all our work is well done. Everything will be positive in pre-season and that's good for the club," he concluded.
