Madrid have their sights set on the upcoming La Liga games -Betis and Espanyol- without losing focus on the Champions League. 'Los Blancos' will face Liverpool on 15th March at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of their last-16 tie.
Ahead of that game, the aim is for Ferland Mendy to arrive in perfect fitness. The Frenchman suffered a muscle tear in the semimembranosus muscle of his left leg during the Madrid derby in the Copa del Rey and has been working to return as soon as possible.
Ancelotti, in the press conference prior to the game against Betis, hinted that the Frenchman will join the squad next week. This is great news for the Italian, who has no available left-backs.
Alaba is also injured, which has led 'Carletto' to use Nacho Fernandez or even Camavinga, who has had to play in that position this season.
