The World Cup reaches its climax this Sunday with the final between France and Argentina. It is a high-calibre game, which has Leo Messi and Kylian Mbappe as the main men.
They are two players who, despite being teammates, have also gone up against each other directly a few times. To be precise, they have played each other three times and it is the Frenchman who has come out on top.
The first game between the two was in the last World Cup. France and Argentina played in the last-16 in a game which went down in World Cup history after it finished 4-3.
More than two years later, Messi and Mbappe went head to head once against in a knock-out game, but with one of them playing for PSG and the other for Barcelona. The Frenchman once again got the better of Messi, and ended up having a stellar game at the Camp Nou. In the return leg, the Argentine got Barcelona's only goal, even though he was not able to give his side the victory overall. This Sunday the fourth duel between these two football Gods.
