Leo Messi ends the season with yet another accolade. The Argentinian forward can now boast the honour of having scored the best goal of the Champions League 2022-23, according to UEFA on Friday.
The organisation chose the 10 best shots according to their criteria, and then fans voted for the winner among those candidates.
The winning goal came in the 22nd minute of the first leg of PSG against Benfica in the group stages. Sergio Ramos took control in the midfield and played it onto Achraf, who combined with Vitinha, who found on the first touch Argentina's superstar.
Messi ran into the area and linked up with Mbappe, who was on the edge of the box. The '7' passed quickly to Neymar, on his left, and the Brazilian placed the ball in front of Messi who first touch, curled the ball into the top left corner of the goal, giving the keeper no chance.
Vinicius' goal against Manchester City in the first leg of the semi-final took home the silver medal, while bronze went to Erling Haaland's acrobatic finish from a Cancelo pass in just in front of goal. Check out all 10 in the video below.
