English referee Michael Oliver will be in charge of the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie between Real Sociedad and Paris Saint-Germain at the Reale Arena, while Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic will referee the second leg between Bayern and Lazio in the German city.
Oliver has already refereed the Basque side in Europe's top competition this season. He also did so at home, during the group stage in the clash against Inter Milan. In addition, his other game in the tournament this season also involved another Spanish side (Real Madrid in their visit to Sporting Braga).
As far as duels involving Paris Saint-Germain are concerned, there have been a total of two. Both took place in the 2022/23 season with the French side as hosts. Oliver will be joined on the sidelines by Stuart Burt and Daniel Cook, and in the VAR room by Stuart Attwell.
Meanwhile, Vincic will be joined on the sidelines by Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic and in the VAR room by Nejc Kajtazovic, forming an entirely Slovenian refereeing corps. During his career he has refereed Bayern Munich only once in the Champions League. That was in the quarter-finals of the 2021/2022 campaign against Villarreal (1-1).
However, he has refereed Lazio three times. One was in Europe's top competition, this season against Atletico Madrid in Rome (1-1). The other two were in the Europa League, with Steaua Bucharest and Sevilla as opponents.
