Karim Benzema left the pitch and went straight to the dressing room on 60 minutes in the game against Valencia after hurting himself in the back of the leg while shooting which left him limping, and quickly asking to be taken off. Italian Carlo Ancelotti said it was a "minor knock" in the press conference, but it will not be until their tests on Saturday that the gravity of the situation is known. Having said that, they may mean he will be out of Sunday's clash against Mallorca.
It was the same situation with Militao, who suffered a muscle problem after going in for the ball with Samuel Lino.
The defender lasted 36 minutes. In his case, he stayed on the bench for the rest of the game, with ice on the affected area and he was even seen actively protesting, demanding that Gabriel Paulista be sent off for his reckless challenge on Vinicius.
It is an area of the field that coach Carlo Ancelotti has to keep an eye on, as Austrian David Alaba has not yet trained with the group but, according to 'EFE', should do, if there are no more delays, this Saturday ahead of the game against Mallorca. He will be a key recovery for Ancelotti's plans.
Mendy is definitely out of the Club World Cup which is being played in Morocco and that Real Madrid with play their first game in, straight in the semi-finals, next Wednesday. Lucas Vazquez, however, is almost ruled out.
