Uruguay midfielder Federico Valverde said on Tuesday that England's Jude Bellingham could become "an epoch-making captain" at Real Madrid.
"Players destined to make an epochal mark have the skills that Jude [Bellingham] has. He came to a top team at a very young age. Madrid are another level and he arrived in very good form. I think he is a very mature player," he told reporters.
"We know what a great player he is and as a person he is also special, he is a very good teammate, with a good head. He could become a captain who could mark an epoch in Madrid," Valverde added.
The Madrid midfielder also revealed that he would like to wear the skipper's armband: "It would be a dream to be able to set an example like Carvajal, Modric and Kroos. We try to make the most of it and I would love to be that. I was with Uruguay and it was one of the best things in my life," he said.
Finally, Valverde spoke about Luka Modric, who has not played two games in a row. "He has never made a bad face. He's a warrior, one of the most competitive I've seen in the world of football. We have to keep learning from him until the last day he plays football and enjoy it."
