Mohamed Salah hits 200th goal for Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is slowly but surely making his mark on Liverpool's history. The winger reached 200 goals for the Anfield outfit against Crystal Palace in just 327 appearances. The Basyun native, who had previously spent some time at Chelsea in the Premier League, has continued an improvement that was already evident at Roma and which has finally placed him among the best players in the history of the English top flight.
Salah scored the first of his goals as a Liverpool player on his Liverpool debut on 12th August 2017 in a 3-3 Premier League draw with Watford. In total, the Egypt international has scored in 159 different games under Klopp. The first of his braces came on 17th October 2017, against Maribor in the Champions League (0-7). He scored his first hat trick on 8th December 2018 against Bournemouth in the domestic competition (0-4), but even before that he was able to score four goals in the same match, in a 5-0 win over Watford on 17th March 2018.
The distribution of his goals per game played is as follows: in 101 games he scored 1 goal, in 30 games he scored a brace, on 4 occasions he scored a hat-trick and only in the match against Watford did he manage to score 4 goals. The balance of the matches in which Salah has managed to score is very positive for Liverpool, as the Reds have accumulated 125 wins, 21 draws and 12 defeats in those matches without including the match against the Blades.
By competition, the Basyun native has scored 148 goals in the Premier League, 42 in the Champions League (including qualifying rounds), 5 in the FA Cup, 3 in the Europa League, 1 in both the EFL Cup and the Community Shield. The teammates who set him up the most times were Roberto Firmino, with 21, and Sadio Mane, with 12.
Premier League clubs top the list of opponents Salah has scored against the most times. The most punished by the Egyptian is Manchester United with 12 goals in 12 games. He has scored 11 in 19 meetings against Manchester City and 10 in 13 games against West Ham. Finally, the other teams he has done best against are Leeds United (9 in 6), Watford (9 in 8), Bournemouth (9 in 10) and Tottenham (9 in 14).
The winger has scored the opener five times against the Hammers and four times against the Sky Blues, Spurs and Brighton, and has scored the winning goal 18 times, with Tottenham and the Seagulls the only clubs against whom he has done so more than once (2).
In terms of braces, Manchester United, with 3, top the team rankings ahead of Brighton, Tottenham, Leeds United, West Ham, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Everton with 2 and these are the only opponents against whom he has repeated. His 4 hat tricks came against Bournemouth, Rangers, Leeds United and Manchester United.
Finally, season by season, the first campaign was Mo Salah's best in terms of goals at the Reds with 44. Then, in 2020-21 and 2021-22 he managed 31 and in 2022-23 he was down to 30. In descending order, he managed 27 goals in 2018-19, 23 in 2019-20 and he has 14 with this last goal in the current season.
