Spanish striker Alvaro Morata expressed his "eagerness to start" at AC Milan and showed his confidence in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paulo Fonseca in a brief interview to the Italian press.
"I can't wait to start. Now, I'm going on holiday because I have to be with my family, who helped me a lot, otherwise I would be training from tomorrow," the 31-year-old, who recently won Euro 2024 with the Spanish national team, told 'Sky Sport'.
Morata, who was asked why he decided to return to Serie A, spoke of the confidence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and coach Paulo Fonseca. "I know that I have the best years of my career ahead of me," he said.
The Atletico Madrid player will sign a four-year contract with Milan in the next few hours after paying his 13 million euro buyout clause, according to Italian media reports. The Spain captain will be paid between four and five million euros per season until 2028, although with the possibility of staying for another year if Milan want him to.
