Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who joined AS Roma in 2021, could be living out his final months in the Italian capital. His contract expires at the end of the season and it seems that his successful spell at Roma, where under his guidance the team won a Europa Conference League and played in a Europa League final, is coming to an end.
According to Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, the 60-year-old coach will not extend his contract with the Italian club. "There are no negotiations ongoing, there have never been. So they’ll part company at the end of the deal in June," he said.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal tried to land the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss but he opted to stay with Roma for another year. Interest from Saudi Arabian clubs has not diminished and it has been reported that a mystery Saudi league team is willing to offer Jose Mourinho a two-year, £104m contract.
Last month Mourinho was asked about rumours linking him to the Saudi Pro League. "I am focused on Roma and I will give my all until the last day I am here. Nobody knows the future, but I am convinced I will coach in Saudi Arabia one day. I don’t know when, but I am quite sure it’s something I’ll surely do," said the Roma coach.
