Former Real Madrid star Antonio Cassano took advantage of Roma's penalty shoot-out defeat to Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League final to hit back at Jose Mourinho, who held nothing back and lashed out at the refereeing for some of the mistakes that complicated his team.
"The referee made a mistake, but as others miss goals, Anthony Taylor was not up to the task. Everything that happened afterwards started with Mourinho, who went downstairs to protest. The videos quickly reached everyone and then we saw his family panicking," the former striker began, speaking to 'BoboTv'.
In the same vein, Cassano lashed out at the coach and called for his departure from Roma for next season: "He said he's going on holiday, I hope he never comes back to Italy. It's disgusting, in these two years we only saw fights, he ruined Roma's image, he didn't do good for the club".
"I hope for my people: that he goes to Portugal and never coaches in Italy again," said the historic Italian striker, completely annoyed by the attitude of Mourinho, who even decided to wait for the referee in the parking area to show his displeasure.
