Al Hilal are looking for a new coach for next campaign. Massimiliano Allegri was their top target but the Italian turned down their offer. The Saudi club kept their eye on Jose Mourinho and presented him with an offer of 26 million pounds per year, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The same media outlet reports that the Portuguese manager could have become the highest paid coach in the world but also rejected their bid.
Mourinho was suspended for four European matches for insulting referee Anthony Taylor after Roma's Europa League final defeat by Sevilla. The Portuguese confronted Taylor in a car park following Roma's penalty shoot-out loss after a 1-1 draw in Budapest.
The Portuguese manager turned down their offer because he is focused on AS Roma and winning trophies next season. The Italian side will fight to win a title after the Europa League flop. Money is not everything for Jose Mourinho
