Bayern Munich player Jamal Musiala gave an interview to 'Marca' in the days leading up to the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. The German spoke about his relationship with Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham and how they are approaching the game: "We always dream of playing games like this.
"Those were great years in England. We always got on well on the pitch and played good football. We were roommates and we always had a great relationship. To this day, we are good friends," he said when asked about his time with the Birmingham native in the youth ranks of the Three Lions.
On the other hand, Musiala said he was not surprised by the Englishman's good performance at Real Madrid: "I think Jude always has a great mentality as a player. He is very confident and doesn't shy away from big challenges, so I wasn't surprised to see him like that in Madrid. Of course, his start is not normal for a rookie, as it always requires a certain amount of patience, but it's something that honestly didn't surprise me too much. I've known Jude's mentality since he was a kid.
"He's a very kind-hearted guy and he's always had a lot of affection for the fans. And now he does the same as a star. He just shows respect for the fans, especially as you become more and more popular. It's important to show that respect and I think we've both maintained that pretty well over the years," he added of Bellingham's human face.
