On Saturday, Manchester City's Savinho said that his dream was to be coached by Pep Guardiola after winning his first title with the Sky Blues in the Community Shield. The Brazilian, for whom City paid more than 30 million euros this summer, debuted in Saturday's Community Shield penalty shootout win over Manchester United.
The 20-year-old came on in the 63rd minute to replace Jeremy Doku and in his first appearance for his current side scored a spot-kick in the shootout to win the English Super Cup for his side.
"I'm delighted to be at Manchester City, to get my first title," Savinho told reporters at Wembley. "It was always my dream to be here, thank God and my family to be here and City for trusting me," added the player, who will have to fight for a starting place to establish himself in Guardiola's squad.
"I have to work day and night and let Pep decide. My dream was to be coached by Pep. Everyone who goes through him learns a lot of things. He makes you smarter in football. It has always been my dream and now I have the opportunity to work with him," said the former Girona player.
