Ex-Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has made it clear that he would never return to the Spanish side, despite having spent over a decade with them.
In an interview with Cope, the 34-year-old, who recently moved to Saudi Arabia to continue his career, revealed that he would turn down any future offers to rejoin Madrid, even if the club asked him to.
"No one from Real Madrid called me. Even if they call me, I’m not gonna return. My decision has been clear, it’s not about playing or not… my chapter there is closed. I’m very happy in Saudi, my focus is here," he said.
The veteran defender, who made over 200 appearances for Madrid, explained that his decision was driven by a desire for new challenges and experiences.
He stated that while he holds Los Blancos in high regard and is grateful for the opportunities, he feels that his time at Madrid has come to an end and that he is now focused on his future in Saudi Arabia.
