The tension between European clubs and FIFA continues. There is no type of progress with regards to signing the agreement about loaning international players in 2023, as the current one runs out on 31st December 2022.
According to 'The Athletic', the agreement has been in force since 2015, and neither the clubs nor the organisation have come to an agreement, which is making an agreement even harder. And because of this disagreement, the Club World Cup could start later.
The 'Daily Mail' have reported similar as well as saying that the change which FIFA want to bring in would be rejected. To remind you of what the organisation want to bring in, it is similar to what they want to do for the international competition, that is to say, with 32 teams.
China was selected to play host, but the COVID-19 pandemic has inevitably pushed all that back. For now, the Club World Cup is at a standstill and it appears that there will not be new ideas introduced anytime soon.
If there are no changes in the agreement to do with players loaned, teams would not have to loan their players for March next year.
