Newcastle United have turned down a late transfer bid from Galatasaray for Kieran Trippier, just hours before the Turkish window closed on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old right-back has been the subject of transfer speculation for months, with previous interest from Bayern Munich and clubs in Saudi Arabia. The Turkish champions submitted an offer of just £2.5 million for the former England international, but Newcastle were unwilling to part ways with him.
Despite already selling Miguel Almiron and Lloyd Kelly last month, the club decided against cashing in on Trippier, ensuring they remain in a strong financial position ahead of the summer.
Reports indicate that Galatasaray were prepared to offer the player a lucrative three-year contract, but Eddie Howe was adamant about keeping the experienced defender. Trippier has spent much of the season behind Tino Livramento in the pecking order but impressed in Newcastle's recent win over Arsenal, reinforcing Howe’s desire to retain him.
With his contract reportedly expiring this summer, Trippier will now focus on helping Newcastle push for a Champions League spot and potentially end their 70-year trophy drought when they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final next month.
