The French international joined London club Chelsea in June from RB Leipzig for a reported £53 million but he has yet to play for his new club in a competitive match.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino said on Friday that the 25-year-old is nearing a comeback from the knee injury that has prevented him making a competitive appearance yet for his new team.
"He is doing really, really well. He is really close [to returning]. Maybe after the international break, he will be involved. Maybe, maybe, not sure.
"He was the player when you see the goals from last season, it’s a player that can provide goals and I think we are missing goals. We think he’s a player that can be important for us because he proved he can score," he told reporters.
