Chelsea captain Reece James has not healed from his hamstring injury - which he sustained in the summer - according to expectations. Chelsea are, therefore, holding back on his return, insiting that they will not rush him back until properly recovered, as revealed by 'The Sun'.
Reports indicate that there have been no setbacks or new injuries to the player's affected muscle, but it is simply the case of it not healing as quickly as expected. With no sign of an imminent comeback, Englishman is forced to extend his spell on the sidelines for an undisclosed amount of time, as Chelsea conitnue to monitor the situation.
Reece James has a long history with injuries and fitness problems, thus missing out on a lot of game-time over recent years. The 24-year-old was limited to a mere 10 appearences in the 2023/2024 Premier League season after suffering 7 injuries throughout the year. The year before, while better, he only featured 16 times for Chelsea in the league. The defender's injury problems also meant he was not able to represent England in the Euros last summer.
