PSG are now ready to go for the Ligue 1 title in the penultimate matchday. The Parisian side are going up against Strasbourg while Lens, who are second, will go up against Ajaccio.
With regards to the title race, that's what Galtier spoke about in the pre-match press conference: "We're still not champions, we've got to play against Strasbourg. How do I rate the team? I'll leave that for the press to do. It's not easy. I understand the critics because we've lost too many games in 2023 and we've haven't layed well at times, especially at home. But we have to wait to do that analysis. It's been a difficult season and different what with the World Cup and little rest".
The Paris boss was also asked about Messi, who has played in the French capital for two seasons: "I can't talk about his first season because I wasn't here. In any event it's been an honour that a player such as him has come to France. Leo's commitment is and has been faultless from the start. Messi is football. I see him training a lot everyday and he's had a good year. Look at his goal and assist stats. The fans expect a lot, but he's been better than when he started".
To conclude, Galtier spoke about what the side was missing in the Champions League. "At the start of the each season, the club is always pipped as a favourite to win it. There are a lot of other sides with the same aims but only one can win it. There are a lot of surprises on the way. Nobody would've imagined that Inter would have got to Istanbul. You've got to play your best in Ferbruary or March and that wasn't the case with us", he ended by saying.
