"Nobody expected me to take a penalty against City"

Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger was named Mahou's player of the month for April. The German centre-back spoke about the penalty he took against Manchester City as nobody expected him to take it and Ancelotti gave him the confidence he needed.

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger said his side, who won La Liga a fortnight ago, have had a ‘"great season" and that the aim now is to "finish on a high" with the title double if they beat Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on 1st June.
The German received the Mahou Player of the Month award on Thursday, which accredits him as the best player of the past month.
"I'm very happy. It shows that we have had a great season and also on a personal level it shows that the fans accept me and value me. That's important. I feel good and confident in the team. We have had a great season and we want to finish on a high," he said.
Rudiger picked the penalty he converted in the Champions League quarter-final second leg shootout against Manchester City as his favourite moment of the month.
"If I could choose one moment of April it would be the penalty against Manchester City because nobody expected me to take the last one. The coach believed in me and I'm happy to help the team. It's my job and I'm always looking forward to it," he added.
