La Liga president Javier Tebas said on Wednesday that, since Barcelona have been experiencing financial problems, "this year is the easiest for them" to comply with the competition's financial control and sign players.
"This year, of the last few years, is the easiest for them. Barcelona know what they have to do to incorporate players, they know the financial fair play, they control it well. They are coming out of their complicated economic situation and we are going to see if they solve those few issues they have to add the important additions they expect," Tebas said.
The La Liga president said this during his participation in the 'Sports Summit Mexico 2024', where he gave the conference 'Global Expansion of LaLiga' and recognised the achievements of the 'Cules' to reduce the wage bill of their first team.
"There is an essential fact. Three years ago, Barcelona had a wage bill for the first team of 650 million euros, today it is 450 million, 250 million less, something that is already more acceptable for a team like Barceñpma. It is at Madrid's level in terms of wage bill, but Madrid have done their homework well for many years and that is why they can bring in players," he added.
