Girona announced the signing of Bojan Miovski, a 25-year-old striker from Aberdeen who scored 26 goals in 53 games last season in Scotland. His club had posted a tweet on August 5th to announce his sale to Southampton, newly promoted to the Premier League, but deleted it because, in the end, he has reached an agreement with the Spaniards, who will pay more - €7.9 million - and allow him to make his debut in the Champions League.

Girona have achieved something unthinkable in this summer market: to take a signing away from a Premier League team. Southampton had already reached an agreement with Aberdeen for the arrival of their star striker, the Macedonian Bojan Miovski, for 5.8 million euros when the Catalan side stepped in to offer 7.9 and the possibility of a Champions League debut.
For obvious reasons, the Scots canceled their talks with the Saints to send him to Spain. The fact is that they even published a message on their Twitter profile to announce the departure of the striker to their squad. It was posted ten days before the Spanish side confirmed, in a statement that already appears on their social networks and their website, that they have signed him until June 30th, 2028.
The striker scored 26 goals and provided 4 assists last season. Sixteen of his goals came in La Liga, two in the League Cup, four in the Cup, two in the Europa League qualifiers and two more in the Conference. There was not a single competition in which he participated and did not score a goal, which raises the excitement ahead of his debut in UEFA's top tournament, the only one left on his CV.
“Bojan Miovski, 25, will strengthen Griona's attack. The Macedonian striker has signed a four-season contract until June 2028 after the club reached an agreement with Aberdeen for the player's transfer. Miovski, who has already passed the medical examination, will join the team's training sessions on Friday,” reads the letter published by Girona.
