"Al-Ettifaq has made an offer to Steven Gerrard. He has welcomed the offer and has asked for time to consider it", reported 'Reuters' a few days ago.
Now, it's official. Liverpool and English legend, Steven Gerrard, will join Saudi Arabia for a new coaching challenge, this one far outside Europe.
This season, Al-Ettifaq finished 7th in the Saudi league, well behind Benzema's Al-Ittihad and Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, but everything seems to indicate that the league will be a very different beast next season.
At 43 years old, the former Rangers and Aston Villa coach has signed a one-year contract to replace French coach Patrice Carteron, who stayed on for just one season.
