OFFICIAL: Ashley young joins Everton on a free transfer

Ashley Young has agreed a one-season contract with Everton, having been released from his contract by Aston Villa. He is the Toffees' first signing of the 2023/24 season.
The 38-year-old made 32 appearances for Aston Villa last season, 23 of them as a starter. He returned to the Villans in 2021 after two years at Inter Milan.
Despite his age, the former Manchester United player arrives at Everton with the ambition of becoming a regular starter. His experience will be a welcome addition for the Toffees, who are likely to be playing for survival for another season.
Ashley Young is capable of playing in a number of positions, including left-back, so he would bring huge experience and versatility to the Toffees, who finished 17th in the Premier League last season.
