Atletico Madrid, after midnight, published a statement in response to the throwing of objects on Thibaut Courtois that stopped the derby at the Civitas Metropolitano for about a quarter of an hour. The 'Colchoneros' regret what happened and say they have already identified one of those involved in throwing several lighters onto the pitch.

Atletico Madrid rejected, on Sunday, in a statement, “the throwing of objects” at Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois during the derby at the Civitas Metropolitano stadium.
The Madrid side announced that “they are working, together with the Police, to locate those involved, one of whom has already been identified”, to apply the club's internal regime “for very serious cases”.
“Atletico Madrid wish to express our rejection of the throwing of objects that took place from a section of the south stand in the 68th minute of the match vs Real Madrid. The club's Security Department has been working with the police to locate those involved, one of whom has already been identified,” the club added on their official website.
“The club will apply the internal regime foreseen for very serious cases to the people involved in this incident,” reads the statement. Atletico, at the same time, assured that “These attitudes have no place in football and tarnish the image of a stadium that has experienced a spectacular atmosphere with more than 70,000 spectators in the stands, the vast majority of whom have shown exemplary behaviour.”
