Atletico Mineiro announced on Wednesday the signing of striker Deyverson, who has experience in European football and who will reinforce the team for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, which they will play against San Lorenzo. The mediatic striker is committed to the 'Galo' until the end of 2025.
"A goalscorer and decisive in the box, champion in Brazil and with good experience in Europe, the No 9 arrives to increase the offensive repertoire of the 'Galo' and help in the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship," announced the Belo Horizonte club.
The 33-year-old Deyverson has played in Portugal with Benfica and Belenense, in Spain with Levante, Alaves and Getafe, and has played for Koln.
In Brazil he had his best spell with Palmeiras, who transferred him to Cuiaba in 2022, from where he now arrives at Atletico Mineiro coached by Argentine Gabriel Milito, who already has Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas and striker Hulk, although the latter is injured and will be out until the end of this month.
Deyverson will be included in the list of players who will play in the last 16 of the Copa Libertadores, in which Atletico Mineiro will face San Lorenzo. The first leg will be played on 13th August in Buenos Aires, while the second leg will be played a week later in Belo Horizonte
