FC Barcelona have decided to close "sine die" the space provided at the Estadi Olimpic de Montjuïc for the different supporters' groups “due to the non-fulfilment by” the different groups of “the obligations assumed” with the club.
According to a statement from FC Barcelona, the club recalls "the repeated warnings" to the different supporters' groups (Almogàvers, Front 532, Nostra Ensenya and Supporters Barça) to “recover the amount of the sanctions imposed on the Club for their behaviour in the stands last season”.
The amount amounts to some 21,000 euros as a result of "14 disciplinary proceedings for behaviour contrary to the regulations in force in the supporters’ area" opened during last season.
The Catalan club has assured that during this process the different groups have been given "up to three different deadlines for the fulfilment of their obligations"; the last of which expired at midnight last Monday "without any result".
For all these reasons, FC Barcelona have decided "to close the Espai d'Animació sine die" in view of the non-fulfilment of the different deadlines and obligations acquired.
"At the same time, we reiterate to the groups in question the total availability of the club, once they have fulfilled their obligations, to discuss with them the situation of the EDA (Espai d'Animació)", the Catalan club assures.
