FC Barcelona and Stade Rennais have reached an agreement for the transfer of Mikayil Faye for 10.3 million euros. The Catalan club reserve the right to buy back him for 25 million euros and 30% of a future sale of the player.
In their official statement, the Catalans have shared the main information about the transfer. In it, the French pay 10.3 million euros, but the La Liga side reserve an option to buy back the player for 25 million euros.
Mika Faye's spell at Barcelona has lasted barely a year. The defender arrived in June 2023 from NK Kustosija. Deco liked his powerful physique and good ball control, and that is what he has shown throughout this year with the Barcelona academy.
Hansi Flick also counted on Mika Faye throughout this pre-season marked by injuries. At the beginning of the market, there was a very serious approach from Porto that did not materialise, but a fortnight ago Rennes came into play, and after days of negotiation they managed to make the transfer of the defender official.
With this move, the Catalan giants hope to be squaring accounts for La Liga to give final approval to the registration of Dani Olmo. In addition, Vitor Roque is already in Seville to complete his loan move to Real Betis and Clement Lenglet is also on the verge of leaving on loan to Atletico.
