OFFICIAL: Basilea striker Thierno Barry joins Villarreal
Villarreal announced on Wednesday the signing of French striker Thierno Barry from Basel. He arrives to be the new hope for the future of the Yellow Submarine, with whom he signs until 30th June 2029.

French striker Thierno Barry is a new Villarreal player. In line with the recent signing of goalkeeper Luiz Junior, the club has undertaken another major transfer to pay for his departure from Basel and has signed him on a long-term contract until 2029.
The Yellow Submarine have agreed to pay Famalicao 12 million euros for the goalkeeper and, although they have not confirmed the figure, it could be closer to 15 million euros for their new striker. 13.5 fixed and a bonus in terms of add-ons.
After training with clubs in his home country and a spell in the Belgian league, Thierno Barry joined Basel. With the club he scored 9 goals in the second half of last season and 5 at the start of this one.
With Guinean as well as French nationality, he is 21 years old, 195 centimetres tall and can play in various positions up front. Villarreal already have their replacement for Alexander Sorloth, who signed for Atletico Madrid.
