Bayer Leverkusen announced Thursday the signing of French striker Martin Terrier from Ligue 1 side Rennes for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2029.
The 27-year-old, raised in the youth academy of Lille, passed the medical on Thursday morning and would have cost, according to German media, around 22 million euros.
Terrier lands in the German champion after playing with Rennes the last 4 seasons, in which he has played a leading role; although in the last 2 he was weighed down by an injury suffered in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee.
After making his debut with the team with which he was formed, the striker, who can also perform as a winger, moved to Olympique Lyon in 2018 - after a loan spell at Strasbourg - and, after 2 seasons, signed for Rennes, with whom he has offered his best performance and where he has even participated in the Champions League. An international in France's youth teams, Terrier has not yet received a call-up to the senior squad of 'les Bleus'.
