Hector Bellerin's short spell at FC Barcelona has come to an end. The right-back, without much playing time in Xavi Hernández's team, will continue his career at Sporting CP.
The defender joined Barca last summer on a free transfer from Arsenal just six months ago, but he has never been able to win the coach's faith and his future lies in the Portuguese league.
Through social media, the Lisbon club announced the signing of Bellerin, who passed his medical in the league on Tuesday. He will be in charge of replacing Pedro Porro, who left for Tottenham.
During his time at the Catalan giants, Bellerin made just seven appearances wearing the Barca shirt: two in the Copa del Rey, two in the Champions League and three in La Liga Santander. He has not scored goals or provided assists.
Sporting will pay approximately one million euros to Barca for the transfer of the former Betis player, who will surely have an assured place in Ruben Amorim's first team.
The Portuguese side will be the fifth club in the career of the 27-year-old full-back, who has previously played for Arsenal, Watford and Betis, as well as Barca.
