OFFICIAL: Boey joins Bayern in €30m move plus €5m add-ons
Bayern have announced that they have reached an agreement with Galatasaray for the transfer of French right-back Sacha Boey, who is 23 years old and will cost 30 million euros plus 5 million euros in variables.

It is striking how Sacha Boey has turned his career around in a matter of three years. When he was just 20 years old, he shone as a talent with a bright future at Rennes, but a lack of opportunities led him to leave on loan, a season at Dijon led Galatasaray scouts to notice him and pay a million euros to take him to the Turkish League. Now, they are saying goodbye to him for 30+5 million euros.
It turns out that the right-back, during his time with SK, has won the starting berth he was struggling for in the French league and has delighted the scouting reports at the Allianz Arena, which have led the Germans to spend this amount of money.
The figure, in fact, is official. The selling team published it in a statement in which they also indicated that they will play two friendlies with the Germans with 50% of the proceeds and that they have a clause whereby, if the player is transferred in the future, that extra 5 million or whatever is left of it will be paid anyway.
The player is committed until 2028 to a project in which he should have room to progress. Thomas Tuchel, with his insistence on bringing in Eric Dier, has made it clear that he does not intend to give continuity to the same starting eleven over and over again, but is rather inclined towards a perfect internal competition so that the newcomer has continuity in his progression.
Sacha Boey could make his debut on 3 February against Borussia Monchengladbach, who are perhaps tougher opponents than they look. Earlier this weekend, they halted Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen's winning streak with a point away from home. The result puts Bayern on notice that it won't be easy, even if the game is at home, to get all three points.
