Just one year, and 28 appearances after his arrival in Valencia, Edison Cavani leaves the Mestalla. The club and the player have made an agreement to part ways, after he arrived in summer 2022 from Manchester United.
"Valencia CF and Edinson Cavani have reached an agreement for the release of the Uruguayan striker", began the club's statement, released on Saturday.
The club also thanked him for his "professionalism" during his short chapter with the Spanish side. "We wish him good luck for the rest of his sporting career", finished the statement.
Of his 28 matches, he started 23 and put away seven goals, alongside two assists. It appears that Cavani is headed next for Argentinian side Boca Juniors, with journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reporting that he has a deal until December 2024 in Latin America.
