Chelsea have finally strengthened their midfield with the signing of Cole Palmer. The Blues announced the arrival of the Manchester City gem on their official media on Deadline Day.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mauricio Pochettino's side have paid around £40m for the Cityzens playmaker, who has signed a seven-year contract with the Stamford Bridge club, with an option for a further one.
"I’m excited to get started and it feels great to sign,’ said Palmer. "I’ve joined Chelsea because the project here sounds good and because of the platform I will have to try to showcase my talents. It is a young and hungry squad and, hopefully, we can do something special here," said the 21-year-old midfielder.
In addition, Chelsea said in a statement that the player will join up Mauricio Pochettino's squad ahead of their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, so the young talent could make his debut for his new team at the weekend.
