Dani Olmo, who put in brilliant performances at Euro 2024 with Spain and helped his national team win the European title, has signed for Barcelona after five seasons playing in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig.
He played a secondary role for Spain in Germany but the injury of midfielder Pedri Gonzalez gave him the opportunity to shine in the European championship, which attracted the attention of Barcelona.
The Catalan giants contacted his inner circle and negotiations between the two sides were as easy as they were quick as the 26-year-old was keen to return to Spain. Hansi Flick's team have paid 60 million euros - 50 million euros fixed plus 10 million euros in add-ons - for his services.
The Spain international had a buyout clause of 60 million euros which expired but RB Leipzig were not going to accept less than that amount for his permanent transfer. Olmo has signed with the La Liga outfit until June 2030, meaning he will play in a Barcelona shirt for six years.
