OFFICIAL: Dembele swaps Barcelona for PSG

What was an open secret has finally been confirmed. PSG announced through their networks the signing of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
The 26-year-old Frenchman did not look set to leave the Catalan club this summer but Luis Enrique's side made a surprise swoop for his transfer. Perhaps the very possible departure of Kylian Mbappe from the French club this summer has prompted the Parc des Princes outfit to go all out for the former Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund man as their potential reinforcement.
PSG intended to pay La Liga 50-million exit clause for the player, but did not have time to activate it. Faced with this situation, the French club sent a formal letter to Barcelona, thus activating a 'private' clause that made the player available also for 50 million.
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez himself confirmed Dembele's departure after the 'Cules' victory over Milan in a pre-season friendly. The France international has agreed a five-year deal with the club chaired by Al-Khelaifi.
