OFFICIAL: Dortmund full-back Meunier joins Trabzonspor

Turkish club Trabzonspor have made official the signing of Thomas Meunier from Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund. The player has left the German club, as his contract expires at the end of the season and he was not going to renew it. Therefore, the team will pay nothing for the transfer.
Thomas Meunier, who a few months ago was on FC Barcelona's agenda, is starting a new journey in Turkey. The Belgian full-back has signed for Trabzonspor for a year and a half. The deal was made possible by the fact that the winter transfer window in Turkey closes on Friday 9th February.
Borussia Dortmund save Meunier's salary until the end of the season, but leave their right-back with few options. Ryerson has just recovered from injury and Mateu Morey is a question mark following his knee injury. The solution the Germans may have left is to move Sule.
This move for the full-back is mainly motivated by his lack of playing time at Dortmund and his desire to try to get into the Belgium squad for this summer's European Championship.
