OFFICIAL: Dutch star Memphis Depay joins Corinthians
Dutch international striker Memphis Depay, who had been without a club since leaving Atletico Madrid in June, has signed for Corinthians, the Brazilian side announced on Monday.

The former PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, Lyon and, more recently, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid player has signed for the Sao Paulo club until 2026, the club said.
Depay, 30, a regular in the Netherlands team that lost to England in the semi-finals of Euro-2024, arrives at a club in great difficulty, mired in a financial and sporting crisis: with just 25 points from 25 matches, Corinthians are in 17th place out of 20, synonymous with relegation to the second tier.
His last spell at Atletico, with whom he scored 13 goals in 40 games, was marred by several injuries. The versatile striker has 46 goals in 98 appearances for the Netherlands.
The transfer underlines the Brazilian league's dominance in South America, where its clubs have won the last five editions of the Copa Libertadores.
Prior to Depay, the Brasileirao has recently welcomed a number of world stars at the end of their careers, including Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, French midfielder Dimitri Payet, Chilean Arturo Vidal and Colombian James Rodriguez.
