OFFICIAL: Former PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico joins Al Gharafa
Al Gharafa confirmed, through its formal channels, the signing of Sergio Rico as a free agent. He joins a Spanish colony that, in this Qatari dressing room, already has Rodrigo Moreno and Joselu Mato. What the entity had announced three days ago was his arrival in the city because he was received with honours. Al Gharafa officially confirmed on Sunday the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, who arrives as a free agent after playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
Rico, 31, who previously played for Sevilla and Fulham, had been inactive for a year after an accident with a horse in El Rocio that left him in an induced coma for 26 days and hospitalized for three months.
Winner of 2 Europa League titles with Sevilla and 2 Ligue 1, 2 French Cups, a League Cup and a Super Cup with PSG, he was capped once, in a friendly against South Korea on June 1st, 2016 in which he replaced Iker Casillas after 73 minutes.
In his new team, he will play alongside fellow Spaniards Joselu Mato and Rodrigo Moreno.
