Five seasons after he arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk, Fred has left Manchester United. The Brazilian joins Turkish side Fenerbahce, in a deal reportedly worth €15 million.
After it was confirmed on Friday by the Red Devils that an agreement had been reached over the midfielder's departure, the 30-year-old took to Twitter on Saturday to express his thanks to his Premier League home.
"Thanks for everything, Manchester United Football Club", began his message. "Today ends one of the most beautiful stages of my career. I lived the dream of wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs in the world. Going through ups and downs, I leave with the conviction that I always gave my best during all training sessions and games".
"It was five years of a true dream for me and my family. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity", he finished. "Forever a Red!"
His departure, alongside the potential move for Donny van de Beek to Real Sociedad, opens the door for United to sign a big target of theirs: Fiorentina midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat. The transfers of the two players, alongside the fees received opens space on the wage bill at Old Trafford for the Moroccan international to arrive.
