OFFICIAL: Fulham sign Calvin Bassey from Ajax

It's the beginning of a new chapter for Calvin Bassey. The 23-year-old defender signed on Friday for Premier League side, Fulham. He arrives from Dutch side, Ajax with a contract until 2027, with the option to extend for another year.
Despite the English club reporting it as an undisclosed fee, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has reported that it cost in the region of €22.5 million.
Bassey will wear '3' when he arrives at Craven Cottage and he said joining the side was a no-brainer for him: "I know how big of a club Fulham is. They always have quality players, they’re playing in the Premier League, the best league in the world, so I didn’t have to think much about it".
Tony Kahn, club owner, added: "He's a young and versatile defender; a homegrown player who developed at Leicester City's academy before moving on to play for Rangers and then for Ajax, as well as Nigeria's national team".
