One of the key players in Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea side last season ended his time at Stamford Bridge and will join Atletico Madrid in La Liga until June 2029. Connor Gallagher made 50 official appearances last season, 46 of them starting, as well as emerging as one of the Blues captains following the injury to defender Recce James.
The England international had already been linked with rumours of a possible exit from the club in the past, and following the arrival of new coach Enzo Maresca it was confirmed that his role in the team would not be important so the player and the club have been looking for a solution.
It was an open secret that the Chelsea youth player would end up at Atletico as all summer his name has been linked on the Rojiblancos' radar until finally, the midfielder landed in Madrid.
After the payment of 42 million euros to Chelsea and passing the medical Gallagher, who was facing his last year in London, becomes a new Colchonero player for the next five seasons.
