Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund and Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement on the £8million transfer of Pascal Gross, the German player will leave the Premier League club after spending the last seven years on the south coast of England.
The former Seagulls player is Brighton's all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 30 goals and has scored 32 times in all competitions as well as providing 52 assists in 261 official appearances for the English club.
The 33-year-old is fulfilling his wish and joining his boyhood club even though Brighton wanted him to stay. Finally, the transfer is done and the Germans will end up paying 10 million pounds with add-ons.
"We are really sorry to lose Pascal, but we fully understood his situation," said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler. It is understandable that he wanted to take the opportunity to join one of the very top clubs in Germany, and he goes with our best wishes for the future," the club said in a statement.
Borussia Dortmund are delighted with their new player and have made this known on the club's official website. "We’re delighted to bring Pascal back to the Bundesliga. His composure on the ball, his outstanding passing and positional play and his versatility will add a new dimension to our team. But Pascal also has a keen eye for goal, posing a direct and indirect goal threat in many areas."
"We have no doubt that he will improve how we play and that he will be a real asset to us with his will to win and his personality.”
