FC Barcelona suffered an unexpected 1-0 defeat against Real Sociedad, who managed to stop the unbridled attack of the ‘Cules’, who however could not count on their biggest asset: Lamine Yamal.
Hansi Flick confirmed before the match against the Basque team that they had tried but that the Spanish winger was not well enough to play any minutes against Imanol Alguacil's team.
In fact, after the game it was rumoured that the 17-year-old winger could be dropped from Spain's squad for the next two Nations League games, something that has now been confirmed after the ‘Cules’ released the player's medical report.
"Tests this morning confirmed that first team player Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 high right ankle sprain. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks," reads the statement.
In other words, it is likely that the ‘Cules’ will not be able to count on him when they return from the international break for the La Liga match against Celta, although he could be available for the next one, which would be on 26th November against Stade Brestois.
