Union Deportiva Las Palmas announced on Sunday the signing of Catalan midfielder Ivan Gil for three seasons, until 2027, where he arrives on a free transfer after finishing his contract with FC Andorra.
Gil (Viladecans, Barcelona, 2000) "is a versatile player of a high technical level who can play inside or as a winger", according to the Spanish club in a statement in which they listed the virtues that have made them sign him: "ball striking with both legs and at set pieces, good understanding of the game, his finishing, last pass and shot".
Gil arrives at UD on a free transfer from FC Andorra, where he played the last three seasons, from the 2021/2022 season, with whom he has played 97 games in total, scoring 17 goals and providing seven assists.
Last season, in fact, Gil played 40 games, 39 in La Liga Hypermotion and one in the Copa del Rey, in which he scored six goals.
He began his career at Real Club Deportivo Espanyol, with whose reserve team he played 49 games and where he shared a dressing room with two other UD players, Mika Marmol and Saul Coco.
This is UD Las Palmas' fifth signing of the pre-season after securing the services of defender Alex Munoz, goalkeeper Jasper Cillesen, full-back Marvin Park -who had already played on loan in yellow for the last two seasons- and midfielder Manu Fuster.
