OFFICIAL: Leeds sign Almeria winger Largie Ramazani

Since Saudi Arabia's ownership of Almeria, the club has changed the scale of its ambitions. Despite their relegation to the second tier after two seasons in the top flight, they are among the favourites to return to La Liga and, to make matters worse for their rivals, they have just made a €12million profit from the sale of Largie Ramazani. His destination is Leeds United, a historic club in English football.
The 23-year-old attacker lands in Britain for a figure above the average in this competition, so the Andalusian side budgets widen considerably for the little less than two weeks left of the transfer market. The player himself, in his first statements as a member of the Peacocks, admitted that he did not find it difficult to make the decision even though, technically, he has remained in the same sporting echelon.
With Red Bull's recent arrival in the top tier of team sponsors, it is understandable that this expenditure has had little effect on the Elland Road coffers. However, the Premier League and its satellite competitions have been characterised for several seasons now as providing a more flattering distribution of TV rights to their shields, which has opened a rift with the rest of Europe's economies.
Ramazani only had a contract until 30th June 2025 with Almeria, so the move has been welcomed by the board and understood by the fans. At his new destination, he has committed himself until 2028. He could make his debut this Friday night when Leeds United travel to Sheffield Wednesday in the third round of the Championship, where a win is predicted.
