Real Madrid continue to build the squad for the 2023-24 season. Another player who will be present in the squad is Nacho, who has decided to extend his contract, which was due to expire on 30th June, for another year.
"The club and Nacho Fernandez have agreed to extend the contract of our captain, who remains linked to the club until 30th June 2024," the club said in a statement.
In the letter, Madrid reviews the history of this one club man at the Santiago Bernabeu: "Nacho has defended the Real Madrid crest and shirt for 22 years, since he joined the Alevin A of our youth academy in July 2001 at just 11 years of age".
Last season, Nacho made 44 appearances for 'Los Blancos'. He is an essential part of Carlo Ancelotti's schemes, which is why the club has opted to renew him.
Nacho, to date, has made 319 appearances and, as Madrid recalls, has won countless titles: 5 Champion League titles, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 3 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey titles and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
After Kroos' renewal on Wednesday and Nacho's on Thursday, Modric's could be next. Marca' claims that it will be announced next Monday.
